About the Coach

I’m Kel Walker — a Level 3 Athletics Australia Performance Development Coach, Australian Veteran, and Assistant Coach for the middle-distance and cross-country squads at Trinity Grammar School.
With over a decade of coaching experience and 13 marathon finishes, I specialise in building durable, high-performing athletes through structured, evidence-based training—not hype, shortcuts, or false promises.

I’ve guided athletes from junior development through to State and National competition, helped masters runners achieve personal bests and major-marathon goals, and now lead the PEAK METHOD PROJECT—a long-term performance system focused on progression, resilience, and peaking when it matters most.
Whether you’re chasing your first breakthrough or your next podium, the goal is the same: sustainable performance, executed properly, over time.
Our Coaching Philosophy
How I Coach
I don’t believe in hype, shortcuts, or generic plans.
I believe in:
-
Long-term athlete development
-
Intelligent training load management
-
Coaching the individual — not the spreadsheet
-
Preparing athletes for years, not just races
Injuries, burnout, and stagnation are often signs of poor structure — not lack of effort.

Why the PEAK METHOD PROJECT Was Built
I’m Kel Walker — a Level 3 Athletics Australia Performance Development Coach. I coach athletes from junior development through to State and National competition, and I also coach adult runners chasing personal bests and major goals.

PEAK METHOD exists because too many runners are stuck repeating the same cycle:
Train hard → race → break down → start again.
This system was built to change that.
My focus is simple:
-
Smart progression
-
Strong fundamentals
-
Durability first
-
Peak when it matters most
